The Heather plant is a typical element of the evergreen Mediterranean scrub. The name derives from the Greek Erikein, to break, in allusion to the fragility of its branches. It is a rather difficult honey to produce in purity due to the precocity of flowering in a period in which the bee families are not always sufficiently developed to exploit the nectar and therefore produce honey.
Flower (Latin): Erica Arborea (Ericaceae)
