Ceylon Green Tea
SIZE: 25 filtri
Description
Green tea is one of the oldest beverages in the world and one of the most consumed. This tea has also been gaining popularity in recent years due to its numerous health-promoting properties. Green tea is obtained from the same plant used for black tea, Camellia Sinensis. The difference between green and black tea derives only from the type of processing to which the leaves are subjected: those that will produce black tea are subjected to fermentation (or as it should be better said oxidation) while to obtain green tea the fermentation must be blocked immediately. Shortly after harvesting, the leaves intended for the production of green tea are subjected to a natural heat treatment that causes them to wither and inhibits the enzymes responsible for oxidation, allowing the tea to maintain its green color. Subsequently the leaves are processed in various shapes and finally dried. Green tea is very aromatic and is characterized by its marked herbal flavor.
